Eldena Oldham Ash

Mrs. Eldena Oldham Ash, age 102 formerly of Louisville, KY passed away Saturday evening, April 2, 2016 at her residence in Yulee, FL. Mrs. Ash was born on April 6, 1914 in LaGrange, KY, the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Robertson Oldham. She was a lifelong resident of Louisville, KY until moving to Yulee, FL in 2010. Mrs. Ash loved her home and being a mother to her seven children. She had a talent of working with her hands, sewing, quilting, gardening, and even taking up the art of painting at the young age of 88. Mrs. Ash was a longtime member of Auburndale Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.

Along with her parents, Mrs. Ash was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Clarence Ash, Sr. in 1975, and her two sons, Herschel Clarence Ash, Jr. in 1998 and Joseph Oldham Ash in 2013.

She leaves behind her two sons; Frank Ash and David Ash, both of Louisville, KY, her three daughters; Patricia Aneszko of Taylorsville, KY, Marty Harris and her husband Jack of Rock Hill, MO and Mary Snyder and her husband Ken of Yulee, FL, her two sisters; Catherine Stoess of Crestwood, KY and Juanita Pyles of Campbellsburg, KY. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild along with many nieces, nephews and relatives.

Funeral services will be held at Highland Funeral Home in Louisville, KY with Pastor Brian Croft of Auburndale Baptist Church officiating. Mrs. Ash will be laid to rest beside her husband of 41 years, Herschel Clarence Ash, Sr. in Cave Hill Cemetery following the service.
