Russ and Danny, Saddened to see your Mom's obituary. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. We will miss her so much! Liz was not only my dear cousin but also one of the strongest ladies I have ever known! Disregarding her own physical issues, she persevered to the end to care for her household. She was truly the "virtuous woman" of Proverbs 31. "...let her own works praise her..." God called her "Home."
Richard and Nora Bruce
Our sincere condolences to the Fullwood family.

Coach, Joann, and Russell. Your mom was a wonderful, sweet lady. She was quick with a smile, a kind word, and when she saw the need she dispensed a bit of guidance. We are all better for having known her. I am certain there was a marvelous reunion at the gates of heaven. We will keep you all in our prayers in the coming months.

Elizabeth (Liz) M. Fullwood, 92, of Fernandina Beach passed away peacefully at Amelia Springs Assisted Living Facility in Fernandina Beach on January 10, 2023.
Born on May 18, 1930 in Soperton Georgia, to the late Reverend Walter Daniel Moore and Hattie Bush Moore. She was the 9th of 11 children. The family moved to Fernandina Beach in the 1940’s, where Rev. Moore was pastor of the Church of God located on 4th and Cedar Streets in Fernandina Beach. She attended Fernandina High School and worked part time at Lockwood’s drug store on Center St. In 1945, she met Marshall Fullwood and they were married on January 10, 1946.
Mrs. Fullwood was the owner of a day care business in which she kept children of teachers and working families. She eventually began work with the Nassau County School Food Service as a cafeteria worker and as cafeteria manager at several schools. After leaving the school system, she became the Baptist Hospital Dietician for several years. She left Baptist Hospital and retired to help raise her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and was a great cook and always prepared Sunday family dinners for her large family every week for many years. Liz was a very friendly and compassionate lady and always greeted people with a smile and was willing to help anyone that needed it.
Mrs. Fullwood was an active member of the North 14th St. Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was a dedicated member of the Fernandina Order of the Eastern Star where she served as Worthy Matron and held many other offices. She served as Mother Advisor of the Order of Rainbow for Girls where she influenced and guided young girls into positive and productive womanhood and was affectionately known as “Mom Liz”. As a member of the Fernandina Beach Shrine Club “Lady Shriners” she helped the Shrine Club raise money for the Shriners Hospital for Children.
Mrs. Fullwood is preceded in death by her husband Marshall Fullwood, son Larry Fullwood, and her 10 siblings. She leaves behind her sons Danny Fullwood (Joann) and Russell Fullwood, two grandsons, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 28, 2023 followed by a graveside ceremony at Bosque Bello cemetery where her remains will be laid beside her husband, son and mother.
