Evelyn Leona Stanfield, 92, of Yulee passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025 at Life Care Center of Hilliard.

Mrs. Stanfield was born in Corinth, MS but grew up in Butler, OK. She was the daughter of the late Will and Inez Smith Emmons.

She had made her home in Yulee for many years. She worked for Terminal Bag Company for several years and retired from Gilman Bag Company in St. Mary’s. Mr. Standfield was a lady of many talents. She enjoyed planning the piano, singing gospel music, sewing and being a mom. She will always be remembered for loving God and Jesus. She actively talked about Jesus and salvation whenever she had the opportunity.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Parnell Stanfield; her son, Wesley Manning as well as her brother and sister, Glen Emmons and Clara Privitt.

She leaves behind her son, Dave Sullivan and his wife; a daughter, Joyce Carter, all of Yulee. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stanfield will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors at 11:00 AM. Chaplain Jackie of Community Hospice will officiate. The family will receive friends for the hour prior to the service.

She will be laid to rest beside her son, Wesley, in Hughes Cemetery in Yulee.
