Frank Henry Calvert, 94, Fernandina Beach passed away peacefully on January 28 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville.
Born on January 14, 1932 in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey to the late Frank and Nellie-Nana. He grew up in Hasbrouck Heights and graduated from high school. After graduating, he married Kathleen Shanley in 1952 and began working in the packaging industry mainly as a very skilled trouble-shooter. Over a number of years, the couple welcomed 6 children into their home. His children remember him as a kind, loving and dedicated father who always encouraged them to pursue their goals.
Frank was a lifelong athlete and enjoyed basketball and boating. He was a generous, witty, dedicated individual who loved teaching kids to waterski and who was passionate about cooking, golf and yachting.
He was an active member of Oyster Bay Yacht Club.
He is predeceased by his first wife Kathleen and his son Tom.
Frank leaves behind his spouse Karen Miller-Calvert and children Cynthia, Frank, Jim and Chris.
A viewing will start at 10:00am, followed by a service at 11:00am on Saturday, January 31 at the Oxley-Heard Chapel, 1305 Atlantic Ave, Fernandina Beach.
Donations may be made in his memory to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
