Freddie E. Boatright

2020-12-29

E. Freddie Boatright, age 74, of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Bacon County, Georgia to the late Grady Boatright and Lois Millikin Boatright.

In 1967 Freddie was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. In 1978 he received a Certificate of Applied Science in Marine Electricity from Florida Junior College of Jacksonville. Freddie retired from Smurfit-Stone Container after 26 years.

Freddie�s favorite pastime was playing golf and going on numerous golf trips with friends and family. He traveled to many places in the United States such as Hawaii, Sedona, Niagara Falls, Branson, Reno and Lake Tahoe to name a few. Freddie also looked forward to fishing with his best friend. He also enjoyed working in his garden, watching old westerns and tinkering with his Suburban.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Cash �CJ� Boatright, II, sisters, Sara Alene Boatright, Stella Laverne Thompson, and Shirley Harrison who passed the day after her brother on December 30th.

Freddie leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Estelle, stepdaughter, Kimberly F. Bedwell (Ricky), Grandsons, Jeremiah Bedwell and Jakobe Bedwell (Alyssa) and his brother Ronnie Boatright (Julie) plus several extended family members.

Freddie�s family is planning a service to celebrate and remember his life later in the spring.
