Gail Cathleen �Cathy� Powers, age 65 of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Monday, December 2, 2019.

Cathy was born in Copperhill, TN to the late Otis Thomas & Anna Lou Wright and was the youngest of 10 children. She grew up in Morganton, GA where she developed a deep love for the Appalachian Mountains and was always quick to share stories of �the Mountains� with her family and friends. She then moved to Atlanta, GA where she worked as a Real Estate Broker, while raising her two children, and later relocated to Fernandina Beach, FL which she has called home for the past 25 years.

Cathy leaves behind a legacy of love, great generosity, faith and a never-ending love for family. She also loved to paint, travel and shop for antiques and trinkets. She gave unselfishly to anyone in need and was always there to lend an ear or be someone�s shoulder to cry on. Cathy accomplished many things in her short time here on earth, but her proudest accomplishment was her family. Her children and grandchildren where the light of her life.

She leaves behind a daughter Stephanie Echols and husband Carson Echols of Brandon, FL; a son James Coker and wife Natasha Coker of Fernandina Beach, FL; grandchildren David Echols, Abigail Coker, Aubrey Coker, Alley Coker all of Fernandina Beach, FL; and her loving companion Charles Courson of Fernandina Beach, FL.

The family welcomes all to join them for a Memorial Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach, FL on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 am.
