George Albert Mcguirt, age 74 of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Baptist Nassau Medical Center.

Born on December 26, 1946, to the late Ethel (Parker) and Daniel Mcguirt. He grew up in Jesup, Georgia. George was united in marriage to Ruth Clemons on March 25, 1967, in Kingsland, Georgia.

George worked at the Poggey Plant for 20 years until he landed the job of his dreams at Titan Maritime where he was able to travel the world.

George enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and collecting old coins. But most of all he loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his son Richard Mcguirt, his parents and 7 siblings.

George is survived by his wife Ruth Mcguirt of Fernandina Beach, his son Micheal Mcguirt of Fernandina Beach, his daughter Cindy Mcguirt (Andrew Beard) of Fernandina Beach and Melissa Walker of Yulee. Grandchildren Jessica, Christopher, Haylee, Julius and Sonya and 9 great grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date at Parkway Grille.
