George Monroe Burns, Jr.

George M. Burns, Jr. of Callahan, Florida, went to heaven on Sunday, January 30th, 2022.

George grew up in Jacksonville and spent the last 37 years in Callahan, Florida. He had a long, successful career in chemical sales. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. Most of all, George enjoyed spending time with his family for what he called “The Perfect Days!”

George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathy Burns of Callahan, FL. His children, Andy (Tammy) Burns, Lynn (Gary) Young, and Tara Burns; 4 grand children, Travis Young, Casey Young, Heather Brown, and Haley Burns, along with 3 great grands. He is also survived by two brothers, Tommy (Sharon) Burns, and Jerry (Ruth) Burns, along with 2 uncles, Burt Burns and Bobby Burns, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of George’s life will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 2 PM at First Baptist Church of Callahan with Pastor Ken Barney officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 3rd at First Baptist Callahan from 5:00 – 7:30 PM.
