Mrs. Helen C. McLain, age 86 of Fernandina Beach FL passed away Monday morning, February 15, 2016 at Quality Health of Fernandina Beach. Mrs. McLain was born on August 8, 1929 in Waycross GA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Thelma Petras. She attended Seminole High School in Sanford FL. Mrs. McLain has been a resident of Fernandina Beach for the past 40 years. She was employed by Mclean and Stubits Optical as a Receptionist, Wachovia Bank as a Teller, and later at Publix as a Cashier. Mrs. McLain was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach.
She leaves behind her daughter, Linda S. McLain of Fernandina Beach, her sisters, Betty Shaw of Bellmawr NJ, Theda Evans of Port St Lucie FL, and Barbara Greene of Sanford FL.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 19th at the First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach with Pastors Jeff Overton, Bill Crews, Shad Goltz and John Michael Mohney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. Mrs. McLain was a wonderful and beloved mother and will be deeply missed.
