One of my favorite cousins. Although I always called him Uncle Jamie. He really helped me with processing my grandfather's (his uncle) death. He will be missed. Super sweet soul. I know he's at peace, up there with his family and friends.

James (Jamie) W. Thrift, Jr. of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Baptist Hospital in downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
Born on January 8, 1974, he was born, raised and lived in Fernandina Beach his whole life. His family remembers him as a hardheaded, redneck guy and friends referred to him as “good ole boy”. He loved his job of towing and repossessing of twenty plus years.
He was a loving husband to his wife and the apple of his eye was his loving daughter and “brat boy” son. He adored his devoted dogs, Choco, Chika and Chlow. All the kids in the neighborhood referred to his as “Dad”. He was a passionate BBQ Master who also made a mean pot of chili. He was an avid Florida Gator fan.
Jamie leaves behind his mother, Pamela (Danny) Stapleton; his dad, James “Jimmy” Thrift, his wife of 23 years, Rebecca “Becca” Thrift; daughter, Harlee Thrift; son, Wyatt Thrift; brothers, Daniel Thrift, Keith Stapleton and Andrew Stapleton and sister, Apryl “Hope” Thrift; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Legacy Vaptish Church, Fernandina Beach, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to a local SPCA or charity of your choice.
