James "Jimmy" Joseph White

James “Jimmy” Joseph White of Fernandina Beach passed away on January 15, 2026 at the Warner Center for Caring.
Born in New York City he was the son of the late, Patrick and Margaret “Peg” White. Jimmy grew up in Astoria, Queens, New York and joined the U. S. Navy shortly after high school. He and Gail Titcomb White were married for 64 years and moved to Fernandina Beach, FL in 1964.
Jimmy proudly worked in the airline industry for National Airlines and Pan American Airlines before going on to work for SATO, the Scheduled Airline Traffic Office. He will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for the New York Giants, playing games (especially poker and bridge) and always ready for an outing, an errand or a trip. He didn’t like to stay still and earned the nickname “the Butterfly”. His last words: Go Away & Have Fun.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Kate McGovern.
He leaves behind his wife, Gail Titcomb White; their children, James P. White and his wife, Anne, Denyse Badore and Angela Benson and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, James J White, Mariela (Kevin) Beacham, Billy Badore, Lucy Badore, Joey Benson, Johnny Benson, Mark Benson. He also leaves behind his sister, Mary Supernaw and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States and Ireland.
Funeral services to be held Friday, January 30th at 12;00 PM at St. Michael Catholic Church with Fr. Eric Stelzer celebrating the Mass.
He will be laid to rest at Bosque Bello Cemetery.
