James C. Dubberly, Sr.
With much sorrow, the family of James Colson Dubberly announce his passing on December 5, 2021 at 86 years old.
Dad was born March 19, 1935 and was graduated from FBHS in 1953. He went to work for Rayonier but after a couple of years dad felt the calling to join the United States Air Force, which he served for 21 years, at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA and Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, SC. Dad also served 2 tours in Vietnam during that conflict. Our family is grateful for all the veterans who have served in Military Service and for those who continue to do so.
After completing his military service, Dad returned to Fernandina and worked another 20 years for Rayonier.
Dad is predeceased by his parents, Colson and Myrtle Dubberly, his “other mother”, Luvelia Johns Dubberly; his brothers and sister, Frank Dubberly, Eugene Johns, Nolan Johns, and Jerome Johns Strickland and the Love of his Life, wife, Betty Dorminey Dubberly.
