James C. Williams

James C. �Booger� Williams 64, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, passed away Sunday July 30th 2017. A Native of Fernandina, Florida, he was born January 3, 1953, the son of the late Rufus W. and Lilly Conwell Williams. As a youngster, he helped his dad in the family salvage business. At the age of 12, he went to work for Mr. Cecil Pickett at the Five Points Grocery Store. Mr. Williams attended Elementary School and Fernandina Beach Junior High School. He then went to work for Norman Cook at the Eastern Service Station on South Eighth Street. In 1973 he joined the Land & Williams Company in Fernandina Beach and was with the company working in various positions for almost 20 years.

In 1992 he joined the Palmisano family at Amelia Island Paint and Hardware where he stayed until 2008. Since then, he has been working in the Scrap Metal Salvage and Mini Storage Auction business until his health failed. During his lifetime, he enjoyed fishing the areas around the Island.

He leaves behind his wife of forty years, Carolyn J. Williams, his daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and J.V. Cantave of Miami, Fl., his brother Wayne Williams of Fernandina Beach, Fl., his sister Brenda Varnes of Brunswick, Ga. three Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the Church of God of Prophecy on South 14th Street with Pastor Scott Lockwood, officiating.

Mr. Williams family will receive friends following the service; at a reception to be held at the church.

He will be laid to rest in a private family service.
