James Hubert Lee

Mr. James �Hubert� Lee, 82, of Fernandina Beach passed away at his home Saturday, December 29, 2018.

Born in Alma, Georgia he was a son of the late Wallace and Sue Lee.

He graduated from Bacon County High School in 1955 and served in the Army Reserves. Moving to Fernandina Beach in 1956, he began work as a Boiler Operator at Container Corporation and retired from West Rock after 49 years service.

Hubert enjoyed fishing and hunting as well as working in his garden. He shared the harvest of his garden with friends and family alike. A Georgia Bulldog fan, he was a tinkerer and loved working on his tractor.

A longtime member of First Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon and also worked with the R. A.�s and the youth over the years. He was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Daniel Lee.

He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Gail Sentell Lee; his children, Robbie Lee and wife, Dawn, of Fernandina Beach and Suzanne Willis and her husband, Todd; his twin brother, Gilbert Lee and his wife, Judy of Fernandina Beach; his sisters, Christine Kerckel of Gainesville, Florida, Merlene Lee of Alma, Georgia and Janice Tyre also of Alma, Georgia ; three sisters in law, Janice Griffin of Douglas, Georgia, Holly Jutte and her husband, Elmer of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Mae Lee of Fernandina Beach; four grandchildren, Morgan Leonard and her husband, William of Blountstown, Florida, Blake Willis of Fernandina Beach, Leanne Bryan and her husband, Westin of Fernandina Beach and Cole Willis of Fernandina Beach as well as one great grandchild that is �on the way�.

Mr. Lee�s life will be celebrated during a memorial service Monday, December 31, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach beginning at 12:00 PM with Pastor Zach Terry officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 AM.
