James (Ricky) Richard Douglas of Callahan, Fl passed away on Sunday, September 5, 2026 in St. Vincents hospital in Jacksonville after a lengthy illness.

Ricky was born on April 6, 1961 in Jacksonville, Fl to Joyce Shepperd and Horace Sirmons. He grew up in Jacksonville and moved to Bardstown, Ky as a small child where he attended the Kentucky School for Deaf in Danville, Ky.

Later moving back to Jacksonville where he attended the St. Augustine School for the Deaf & Blind. He graduated in 1981 and went on to St. Petersburg Junior College completing a three-year graphic arts program in a year and a half. Ricky was a very skilled air-brush artist and even did a bit of art work with Disney World in Orlando, Fl.

Ricky married Leann Ross and moved to Prior Lake, Minnesota where they lived for 16 years.

Ricky was predeceased by brother Raymond Douglas, sister Victoria Douglas Cook, father Horace Sirmons and stepfather Richard Douglas.

He leaves behind his mother Joyce Lynn Shepperd, sister Linda Carol Douglas (Weston), brother, Bruce Lee Douglas, three children, Debbie Sax (Tony), Michael Ross, Ricky Hunt (Leah) two grandchildren, Justice and Aaden and one great grandchild, Lou.

Ricky will be laid rest in Minnesota at a later date.
