Born in Fernandina Beach, he was the beloved son of the late Glen Darrell Huls and Toni S. Bennett. He grew up in Hilliard with his two brothers, Charles and Brian Huls.
James and his brother, Brian had their own Pipefitting and Fabrication business. He also worked as a shrimper and enjoyed being on the ocean, even sailing in his own sailboat. He was a talented pipefitter and fabricator. He loved building things from scratch and “inventing” things. Above all else he loved spending time with his children.
In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by an older brother, Glen Darrell Huls, Jr., and his grandfathers, Donald Wilder, Charles New and Dale Thomas Huls.
He leaves behind four beautiful children, Samantha Huls, Jonah Leon Lents-Huls, Evelyn Elizabeth Kathryn Lents-Huls and Ruby James Huls; his mother, Toni S. Bennett; two brother, Brian (Brandy) Huls and Charles Huls; his paternal grandmother, JoAnne Wilder and his maternal grandmother, Shirley New; four nieces, Paisley, Bristil, Saylor and Katie as well as a large extended family.
The family is planning a gathering to remember and celebrate his life at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at American Beach.
James was much loved and will be missed so very much.
The family asks you remember James by making a donation, in his memory, to Special Olympics of Florida, 1915 Don Wickham Dr, Clermont, FL 34711.
