Wyn was such a nice young man and a great friend to my family for many years. May memories bring peace to all who knew and loved him.

Pam Stalvey

Mary I am so sorry to see that Wyn has passed. I was just sharing with you recently in October that I had lost Dawn, never dreaming that you too would have to walk through losing a child. My heart is breaking for you and Barry, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep your sweet memories close and refuse any regret that s what helps you move through the coming years. Asking the Lord for peace and comfort in this sad time. I love you.....

James Winfield (Wyn) Lyle

2022-01-25

James Winfield (Win) Lyle, born January 18, 1971, of Fernandina Beach, peacefully passed away at his home January 25, 2022. He graduated from Fernandina Beach High School in 1989 and attended Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University. Win’s greatest loves were his beloved family, cherished friends, and adored dog (daughter), Nellie.

Win was fondly known as a “people person” who enthusiastically embraced all aspects of his service industry career; quick on his feet (literally and metaphorically), he thrived in the fast-paced workplace with a polite and friendly attitude that brought out the best in clients and colleagues. Win eagerly lived engaging in activities that brought him joy: golfing, kayaking, surfing, bowling and sports, particularly the Jaguars, Gators, and Braves. Always leading from the intrinsic sweetness and kindness in his heart, Win truly enriched the lives of those he touched by being a compassionate, steadfast, and unflinchingly loyal son, brother, friend, and confidante.

Win is survived by his parents Mary Belote Lyle and Barry Wayne Lyle; brothers David Lyle (Stephanie) and Tim Lyle (Meghan); nephews, Brendan, Collin, Landon, Lucas; niece Brook Dunlap (Patrick), great nieces; Sophia and Ellie; great nephew Kellen; and ex-wife Tiffany Grassl who remained one of his dearest and closest friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held in Fernandina Beach at a later date. Announcements will be made via Facebook and the Fernandina Beach News Leader.

Rather than flowers, please consider making a donation to the Humane Society in Win’s name, it would mean the world to Win and warm the hearts of his grief-stricken parents and loved ones.
