Janie was such a wonderful person. I met her when I worked at Re/Max many years ago, and she was always so kind to me. Please rely on the comfort of family and friends, and always on the grace of God, to help you through this difficult time.

Janie was our realtor 22 years ago when we first visited Amelia Island. A genuine professional every step of the way. But we went back much further with the Westmorelands than Janie knew at our first meeting. We shared some of the most difficult experiences in our lifetimes when Janie was nursing aboard the hospital ship "Repose" on station in DaNang harbor, Viet Nam. Despite meeting the love of her life, Janie endured and performed admirably through all of the ravages of an ugly war . . . the epitome of grace under fire. Thank you Janie and Bud for your sacrifice and your dedication, which of course you continued to demonstrate the many years that you were on our paradise island. You will always be remembered fondly and gratefully. In Hoc Signe Vinces

So many amazing memories of Janie in our work lives. Janie possessed the compassion of a nurse with the resolve of a soldier. Janie had an incredible way of creating solutions with empathy…all while maintaining a sense of humor. Janie was the epitome of professionalism and is someone we long admired. She left us with so many good examples of how to treat others with respect and kindness, even if we did not agree. We will long think of Janie each and every time we enjoy a fireball. Hugs and support to all of Janie’s family and friends…she touched a lot of people in our town. Claudia and George

Janie was such a wonderful person. I met her when I first moved to Fernandina 22 years ago. I worked with her in Real Estate, and she was always there to answer questions and give me guidance whenever I asked. More importantly, she was my friend. We also played Bunko together with a great group of ladies. We often played at her home in Florence Point and watched many beautiful sunsets. My husband was friends with Bud, who always had a funny joke to share. I will miss this sweet lady very much. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. My sympathies to her family 🙏
