Mrs. Janine Lynett Lee, age 83, of Fernandina Beach, passed away on Sunday afternoon, May 29, 2016 at the Warner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach.

Born in Nicholls, GA, she was the only daughter and youngest of two children born to the late Herman Busby Gibson and Grace Lynett Wheeler Gibson. After graduating from Nicholls High School she attended Bessie Tift College, a private liberal arts women�s college in Forsyth, GA where she earned her Bachelor Degree. After college she taught elementary school in Naylor, Georgia for a short time. She married William E. �Bill� Lee of Surrency, GA in February of 1954. The newlyweds made their home in Fernandina Beach. Mrs. Lee taught Home Economics at Fernandina Beach High School for 32 years before retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher�s Sorority.

She and her husband were longtime members of the First Baptist Church of Fernandina where she was a member of the WMU and the W.R. Price Sunday School Class.

Her husband passed away in 2005.

Mrs. Lee leaves behind her children, William E. �Billy� Lee Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann, Apex, NC, Hal Lee, Fernandina Beach, FL, Merritt Lee, Sydney, Australia, Robin Turknett, Palm Coast, FL, her brother, Herman �Buzz� Gibson and his wife, Zonia, Orlando, FL, eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three nephews and a niece.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Fernandina Beach, FL.

Mrs. Lee will be laid to rest beside her husband in Bosque Bello Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 � 7:00 pm at Oxley Heard.
