Jean Hagan

Jean Holley Hagan, age 79, of Fernandina Beach passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the Warner Center for Caring.

She was born on January 14, 1939 in Kingsport, Tennessee to the late Orman B. and Thelma B. (Sanders) Holley.

She met her husband C. Dewey Hagan, who was enlisted in the Navy, in Tennessee. After living in Orlando for a short time, they settled in Fernandina Beach in 1964. Mrs. Hagan was a loving mother and grandmother, who adored her family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and canning. Her sons tell the story how when they would go fishing she would immediately cook up their catch no matter what time in the evening they returned home. She watched NASCAR and was a big fan of Jeff Gordon.

She is predeceased by her husband, C. Dewey Hagan and is survived by her sons; Philip (Heather) Hagan of Callahan, FL, Scott (Emily Clark) Hagan of Fernandina Beach, three sisters, one brother, niece, Nettie Carter, nephew, Michael Carter, grandchildren; Brendan, Jarrett, Tyler and Meghan and several in-laws, other nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Services will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, February 12, 2018 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until the hour of service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Community Hospice & Palliative Care Foundation, 4266 Sunbeam Road Bldg. 100, Jacksonville, FL 32257
