Jean Steele Dietterich, age 88, of Fernandina Beach, FL. passed away on Saturday, November 12th, 2022 at Osprey Village on Amelia Island, FL.

Jean was born in Carlisle, PA. She was the only child of Ray and Ethel Steele. Jean graduated from Carlisle High School. After high school she attended Drexel University in Philadelphia with a BS in Interior Design.
While she was at Drexel she met the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Dietterich. They wed in November 1955. She and Dick retired to Amelia Island in 1995.

Jean enjoyed tennis and golf in her younger years. Later in life she played bridge and mahjong. She was active in the local chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.

Jean leaves behind her daughter Sherri Hebron (Chris), Lisa Dietterich Kuhn, and four grandchildren, Nathan Young, Sarah Bierschied (Michael), Leah Young, Samantha Kuhn, and great grandson Brady Bierschied.

Services will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Maxwell Hall.
