Jeanne A. Carastro (90) of Fernandina Beach, Florida, died peacefully at home on September 23, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Lawrence T. Carastro. Survivors include three daughters, Peggy Disner, Gayle and her husband Mike Kersten, Connie and her husband Evan Darby; one son, Larry and his wife Sheri; 10 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren, and her brother Carl Smith.

Jeanne and Larry raised their family in Miami, Florida where they lived for 57 years. She was a home-maker and not only raised her four children, but also lovingly cared for three of her grandchildren. She devoted her life to loving her husband and children and reaching out to the neighborhood kids as well. Her life was her family.

She enjoyed playing Bridge with her girlfriends, sewing, travelling, and cooking was her passion. She supported and was always by Larry�s side attending World War II Veteran�s events.

In 2007 Jeanne and Larry moved to Fernandina Beach, Florida to fulfill their lifelong dream of living on an island. Jeanne will always be remembered for her warm smile, and willingness to sit down at the kitchen table and just talk. Jeanne will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery alongside her husband, Larry.
