Mr. Jeff Dallas Lloyd, age 92 of Fernandina Beach, passed away on Sunday morning, March 13, 2016 at his home.

Born in Folkston, GA, he was one of nine children born to the late Jeff and Margaret M. McCoy Lloyd. He grew up in Folkston where he graduated from high school. Upon graduating from high school, Mr. Lloyd was drafted into the United States Army where he served during WW II. He fought in Germany and Normandy and was injured at the Bridge of Remagan Battle in 1945 for which he received a Purple Heart. Upon being honorably discharged, Mr. Lloyd returned to Folkston and worked as a Brick and Block Mason. In late 1949 he came to Fernandina to begin a long career with Container Corporation of America where he worked as an Operator until retiring in 1987. After retiring he enjoyed time fishing the local waters around Fernandina Beach.

He had attended Bible Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach.

Mr. Lloyd leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Caddell Lloyd, Fernandina Beach, FL, their three sons, Jeff D. Lloyd Jr., Fernandina Beach, FL, John Lloyd and his wife, Becky, Yulee, FL, Wayne Lloyd and his wife, Susanna, Cumming, GA, a sister, Florine, Groveland, FL, two grandchildren, Caroline and Nathan Lloyd as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 19, 2016 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard Funeral Home.
