Jelleasa Bre Garrido

2019-06-25

Jelleasa Bre Garrido, 28, of Fernandina Beach passed away Friday, June 21, 2019 in Orange Park, Florida.

Born in Southbridge, Massachusetts she was a daughter of Victor Garrido and Melinda Normandin.

Her family moved to Fernandina Beach when she was 5 years old, where she attended Fernandina Beach High School and was attending Florida State College at Jacksonville at the time of her passing.

A spirited young woman, she enjoyed cooking and decorating. Jelleasa was very artistic. Her sketches and paintings were beautiful and they reflected her passion for what she did. Jelleasas caring for others was exhibited by the volunteer work she did. She was willing to help wherever she could. From church activities to working in a variety of feeding programs in Jacksonville, she gave of herself where she could.

The most important thing in her life though, was her daughter, Jaden. Jelleasas love for Jaden was unshakeable and her dedication to her was unfailing.

In addition to her daughter, Jelleasa leaves behind her mother, Melinda Normandin of Fernandina Beach; her father, Victor Garrido of New York City, New York; her brother, Jared Garrido and sister, Christiana Garrido, both Fernandina Beach as well as an extended family of several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A service to remember her life will be held Friday, June 28, 2019 at 3:00 PM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors. Her uncle, Pastor Curtis Cantrell of Abundant Harvest Baptist Church will officiate.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:30 PM.

She will be laid to rest at a later date.

The family asks for memorials in her name to the Missions of Abundant Harvest Baptist Church, 365 W. King Ave. , Kingsland, GA 31548.

Memories

PASTOR CURTIS CANTRELL June 25, 2019
2 Cor 4:6-7 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

God look at Jesa and said, This is a jar of clay that I can put my light inside of. My glory can shine outward through her life. and He did. He always did!

To the family, I offer my deepest condolences for your loss. When I think of Jelleasa, I think of the potential she had and her genuinely good heart. Now that she is sleeping in peace, I hope the God of all comfort referred to at 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 can help you through this difficult time. It is only with His help that we can find true comfort. With deepest sympathies, Kay Jans
