Jeremiah Wesley Wortham, age 39 of Yulee passed away at his home on Saturday morning, August 27, 2016.

Born in Fernandina Beach, he was the son of Jack Louis Wortham and Kathy Gaye Mabe. He grew up in Fernandina attending Fernandina Beach High School where he was a member of the Class of 1995. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served until being honorably discharged. Upon being discharged he returned to Nassau County and began a long career as a Land Surveyor. Mr. Wortham initially worked with Manzie and Drake before joining Coastal Land Surveyors. He worked for a time in Live Oak, FL, Atlanta, GA and Kentucky before returning to Fernandina Beach. Most recently he has worked with On Point Land Surveying in Jacksonville.

Affectionately referred to as �Miah� he was a nature lover and enjoyed time with his kids, trips to the Jacksonville Zoo and Fort Clinch.

He leaves behind his wife, Megan Laurel Shurley Wortham, Yulee, FL, his father, Jack L. Wortham and his wife, Cheryl, Fernandina Beach, FL, his mother, Kathy Mabe Wortham, Fernandina Beach, FL, children, Kye Gean Wortham, Maja Alys Wortham, Nathan Wright, Elly Wortham, Aden Wortham, Conner Wright, two brothers, Louis Wortham, Fernandina Beach, FL, C.J. Wortham, Yulee, FL, two sisters, Michelle Carter, Hilliard, FL, Alice Kauffman, Yulee, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 3, 2016 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard.

His family will receive friends on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
