Jimmy R. Taylor

Mr. Jimmy R. Taylor, 83, of Fernandina Beach passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Nichols, GA and was a son of the late Lester Lee and Mandy Music Taylor. After graduating in 1955 from Nichols High School he married Betty Jean Barnes of Fitzgerald, GA in 1958.

Jimmy proudly served in the U. S. Army beginning in 1959. In 1961, he and Jean moved to Fernandina Beach. He spent his working career with Container Corporation as a Recovery Operator.

His wife of 57 years, Jean B. Taylor passed away in 2017. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sisters and their husbands, Ruth and Frank Burnham and Joyce and �Bug� Tanner.

He leaves behind his children, Glynn Taylor and his wife, Debi, of Jacksonville, Mike Taylor and his wife, Susie of Fernandina Beach, Stephen Taylor and his wife, Mandi of Kingsland, GA and Sissy Beckett and her husband, John of Fernandina Beach; four grandchildren, Hunter, Nathan, Kadence and Jensen as well as Brynlee who is �on the way�.

Jimmy will be laid to rest beside his wife at Hughes Cemetery in a family graveside service.

Jimmy�s family is planning a service to remember and celebrate his life later this year.

The family asks that memorials be made in Jimmy�s memory to the Shriner�s Hospitals for Children, c/o Morocco Shrine Temple, 3800 St. Johns Bluff Rd., Jacksonville 32224.

Mr. Taylor-you will be missed by a bunch of people. I�ve never heard you say anything bad about anyone else. You were always upbeat and a pleasure to be around. I�m sure they have you a seat saved in Heaven for that next poker game. RIP. Shuffle up and Deal.
