John Brewster Davis, Jr.

John Brewster Davis, Jr., passed away Monday, June 5, 2023 at the Warner Center for Caring.

Mr. Davis was born in Columbus, OH and was the son of the late J. Brewster and Mary Alice Powers Davis. He grew up in Columbus. He joined the U. S. Navy where he served honorably.

Mr. Davis spent a long career with the Georgia Pacific Corporation and continued in lumber related businesses for nearly all of his working life. He most recently owned and operated his own lumber import business. He had the distinction of being a direct descendant of

He and his wife, Judy, moved to Fernandina Beach 27 years ago from Greenville, NC. Mr. Davis enjoyed golf and cooking. He even penned his own cookbook of his recipes. He approached life with a very positive outlook. One of his favorite sayings was “Life is Good!”.

He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Judy Davis, of Fernandina Beach; his daughter, Christina White and her husband, Doug, of Greenville, NC; two sons, John William Davis and his wife, Ann, of Columbus, OH and Tony Farkasdi and his wife, Nicole, of Findlay, OH as well as five grandchildren, Sara, Zachary, Leah, Ian and Joel.

As was Mr. Davis’ wish, there are no local services planned.

The family asks he be remembered by donations to Community Hospice and Palliative Care of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257.
