This is such sad news to hear that my friend for 63 yrs has passed away. We were in Kindergarten at David E. Rue School in Hoboken, I'd have to say that his face never changed throughout the yrs. John DeAngelo, of Fernandina Beach, Florida, formerly of Hoboken and Maywood, New Jersey, passed away on April 10, 2026, at his home after a courageous multi-year battle with liver cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones.

John was a larger-than-life Renaissance man whose charm touched everyone he met. A talented carpenter, avid fisherman, skilled gardener who could turn any flowers into a beautiful bouquet, and a passionate chef who took pride in feeding his family, he lived life fully and with heart.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his children Ann-Marie, Gina, and John Jr.; the sons he welcomed into the family, Michael and Richard; his granddaughters Violet and Zoe; brother Billy; nieces Alyssa, Jackie, Robin, and nephew Ed; and countless dear friends.
A proud Hobokenite, John will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors beginning at 2:00 PM. There will be a service to remember and celebrate his life at will follow at 4:15 PM.
