John F. Sills, Jr., 63, of Yulee passed away Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the Warner Center for Caring.
John was born in Fernandina Beach and was the son of the late John F. and Sylvia Black Sills.
He worked for as a welder and had worked for the last 15 years for PBM Construction. John enjoyed fishing and continued to fish as long as his health allowed. A member of Moose Lodge # 2352, John volunteered there and had a good time helping around the lodge whenever he could.
Among his favorite pastimes was spending time on his CB radio which was sometimes referred to as the “Redneck Internet”. Every afternoon John could be found taking the family dog, Leona, to the boat ramp near his home on the golf cart.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his son, Nathan, in 2007.
He leaves behind his wife of 39, years, Angela McCall Sills; his two sisters, Tina McKendree and her husband, Daniel, and Sabrina Gregory and her husband, Jimmy, all of Yulee as well as an extended family of several cousins.
The family will receive friends at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A graveside funeral service will be held that same day beginning at 1:00 PM at Hughes Cemetery in Yulee. Rev. Frank Camarotti will officiate.
