Bob Munson and I shared a stack of sacks, three cots one above the other in fair weather and foul, he was a good shipmate growing into a good man. God bless
Bob Munson
John was my shipmate aboard USSMullany DD-528, and a great friend. My wife Carol Anne held John and Sheila in such high regard that we asked them to be god parents to our daugher Dawn and son Leif. Carol Anne died of cancer in 2011. I truly regret that our life paths did not include maintaining contact to such fine people as John and Sheila and I cherish their memory and wish condolences to Sheila. I will continue to keep her in my prayers as we did them both. God bless you all. Sincerely, BobMunson

We met and became friends with John and his wife, Sheila, after they moved to Fernandina Beach, Florida. They became good friends. Our love and prayers to Sheila. Our friend, John, was a wonderful man, may he rest in peace.

A most amazing man, and the best father-in-law I could have ever hoped for. He was kind-hearted and loving; his smile would light up a room and his eyes would twinkle with sincerity straight from his heart. He will be greatly missed, and I will always cherish the too-short of a time I had him in my life.
