Condolences:

Bonnie Brock

I'm so sorry. He was a very loving, caring man. He would come into the store that I worked at and bring his wife. He will missed by so many. May God bless his family and sending prayers for them.

John Raymond Vernon

2025-08-02

Mr. John Raymond Vernon, 89, of Fernandina Beach passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Warner Center for Caring.

Born in Montgomery, AL he was the son of the late John Thomas and Leana Strong Vernon. He called Fernandina Beach home for the last 30 years after moving from Sylacauga, AL.

He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and then retired as a printer. He also worked as a volunteer with the Auxiliary at Baptist Medical Center, Nassau. He enjoyed spending time with his wife Lee, gardening, reading, bird watching, and playing poker with friends.

In addition to his wife, Lee Vernon, he leaves behind a daughter and his favorite puppy, Penny.

There are no immediate services planned and according to his wishes his remains will
be donated for medical study. In lieu of flowers, the family asks instead that you make a donation to Community Hospice Jane and Bill Warner Center for Caring in Ray’s honor.
