John W. Conner, 88, of Yulee passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Baptist Medical Center.

Born in Bryceville, John was a son of the late John L. And Minnie Rowe Conner. He attended Nassau County schools and other than his time in the U. S. Navy he remained a life long resident of Nassau County.

John was spent his working years as a truck driver. When not working he loved to fish, play cards, hunt and enjoyed bowling. He was dearly loved by his family and they considered him a �fantastic father� and a �great brother and friend�.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Barbara in 2004 and his brothers, Marion and Oliver Lee Conner and a sisters, Kathleen Miner.

He leaves behind a daughter, Wendy Buckner of Tollesboro, KY; a son, Jerry Boyd of Nashville, GA; sisters, Merrylene Green of Yulee, Libby Wells and her husband Leo of St. Mary�s and Lillian Boyles of Yulee; a brother, Cecil Conner and his wife, Pam of Yulee; four grandchildren, Woodrow Wingate, Robert Wingate, Kelly Potter and Thomas Wingate; nine great grandchildren; his longtime companion, Jessie Freeman; an �adopted� granddaughter, Kimberly Jensen and her husband, Bill; his best friend, Tim Griffin as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors with Pastor James Conner of New Life Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 PM.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife, Barbara, at Hughes Cemetery.
