Jonathan Ryan Harden, 33, of Fernandina Beach, Fl, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 April at his home, surrounded by family.
Born on October 2nd, 1990, in East Patchogue NY, to Jeffrey and Kristine Harden, he grew up in Manorville, NY and graduated from Eastport-South Manor Jr/Sr High School in 2008; where he was a member of the baseball, basketball and football teams. After graduating from The University of West Virginia, in 2012, with a degree in Criminology, Jonathan sought various avenues, including testing for the NYPD, Hertz and Target, before finding his footing as an Air-Traffic Controller for the FAA.
After graduating from the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center in 2019, Jonathan began working for the FAA, stationed at Jacksonville Air-Route Traffic Control Center (ARTCC) as an Air-traffic controller. Over his life, Jonathan proudly welcomed his nephew, Benjamin Michael Harden, and niece, Abigail Kathryn Harden into his heart. The children remember Uncle Jonny as playful, funand the source of so many laughs, and even a little mischief. Ben and Abi will always remember their time together at Disney World and the time spent in Grandma and Grandpa’s pool.
Jonathan was a generously big-hearted individual who loved fun and spending time with his family. An avid weight-lifting and strength training guy, he was also passionate about golf, dirt bike racing, video games, musicals, Disney movies, Guy Fieri’s Tournament of Champions on the Food Network, and giving his Mom a hard time.
Jonathan leaves behind his parents Jeffrey and Kristine Harden, of Greenwood SC; brothers Joshua Harden and his wife, Anna Gray Harden of Grovetown GA and Jason Harden of Sumter SC; nephew Benjamin Harden; niece Abigail Harden. Jonathan is also survived by his Maternal Grandmother, Helen Stupak, his Paternal Grandfather, Harold Eugene Harden Sr., and his numerous Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.
Jonathan is predeceased by his Maternal Grandfather, Dennis Stupak, his Paternal Grandmother, Geraldine Harden, and uncles, Harold Harden Jr. and Brian Harden.
The family will receive family and friends, for viewing, between 5PM-7PM on the April 30th at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors in Fernandina Beach.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at 1 PM, on 1st, May at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach.
Donations may be made in Jonathan’s memory to the Chris “CJ” Johnson Foundation, an organization dedicated to the research of, and spreading awareness of RMC.
