Joseph Gregory Brown, Sr., affectionately known as �Joe�, �Greg� and �Little Daddy�, age, 63 of Fernandina Beach, passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville.

Born in Fernandina on August 1, 1953, he was one of four children and the only son born in his family. Mr. Brown was a graduate of Fernandina Beach High School and later attended auto body repair and welding schools.

Mr. Brown worked at Container Corporation of America for over 40 years before retiring as a Foreman in the Shipping Department in 2015.

He enjoyed surf fishing on our local beaches, watching both college and NFL football and bowling in Yulee.

He had attended New Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach.

Mr. Brown is preceded in death by a sister, Rosalee Hayes.

He leaves behind his wife, Sheila A. Brown of Fernandina Beach, children, Joseph Brown Jr. , Jacksonville, FL, Timothy Brown and his wife, Carol, Corpus Christi, TX, Keith Brown and his wife, Marcia, El Paso, TX, Brian Foote, Jacksonville, FL, Eric Foote and his wife, Monette, Fernandina Beach, FL, Courtney Foote, Yulee, FL, sisters, Angel Butler of Bradenton, FL, and Vanessa Dawson, Fernandina Beach, FL, seventeen grandchildren, one great-grandson, a special mom, Rosalee Davis and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the First Assembly of God of Fernandina Beach with Pastor Bernard Thompson, officiating.

Mr. Brown will be laid to rest in Bosque Bello Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2017 from 5:00 � 7:00 PM at Oxley-Heard.
