Joseph James "Jim" Badenoch

2021-06-08

Joseph James (Jim) Badenoch passed away June 8, 2021 at his home on Amelia Island.
Jim was born in Chicago, Illinois on October 24, 1942 to his parents Joseph and Martha. After graduating high school, Jim took an apprenticeship as a plumber and ultimately owned and operated his own commercial plumbing business. He and his wife, Sharon, retired and moved to Amelia Island in 1991. They graciously welcomed to their home, many family vacations over those past 30 years.
Jim was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was passionate about cooking, gardening, going to the gym, target shooting, his cats, piloting his own airplanes including aerobatic competitions, and most recently, remote control airplanes. Jim was also a very avid and accomplished golfer. On the day of his passing, Jim shot a 78 at the Golf Club of Amelia Island. It was the 255th time he shot his age or under since turning 70.
Jim leaves behind his wife of 45 years Sharon, two daughters Cindy (Rich) and Sandy (David), daughter-in-law Kelly, four stepchildren Lori (Scott), Jeff (Mercy), Lisa, and Gina, thirteen grandchildren Courtney (Joe) and Jamie, Connor, Clayton, and Chloe, Mikayla (Kyle) and Cameron, Jeffrey (Nicol) and Gigi, Joe, and Nina, Sophi and Baylee, three great-grandchildren Julia, Amelia, and Beau, his sister Barbara, brother-in-law Jimmy, and many other family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy, in June 2013. Our faith assures us they are together again.
A celebration of life is planned for later this summer.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Humane Society of Amelia Island.
