A beloved son, father, grandfather, brother and friend, Joseph O’Neil Swann passed away peacefully in his sleep, on May 26th, 2021 at his beach house on Dauphin Island, AL.

He was born in Biloxi, MS October 4, 1961 to Robert Swann and Mary Jo Swann Higgs. Neil grew up in Augusta, Georgia where he was a standout athlete at Westside High School graduating in 1980.

Neil worked as a Health Physics Radiation Protection Technician at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, Athens, AL. He traveled the world extensively and was a self made man.

We will always remember his gigantic personality, his incredible generosity and his love of life to the fullest. A symbol of power and grace, his presence in our lives will be sorely missed.

When you think of Neil, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Remember that life is fragile, short and to make every moment count as he surely did.

He is survived by his mother Mary Jo, daughter Brooke, granddaughters Leah and Khloe, grandson Emmett, sister, Carla and legions of friends.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach, FL on June 9, 2021 at 3PM.
