Joy Nell Bunk, age 77 of Fernandina Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the Warner Center for Caring.
She was born on April 27, 1944 in Lambert, Mississippi to the late Susie and William Rodgers.
She retired from Jacksonville Naval Air Station and made her home in Fernandina Beach for over 30 years.
Joy was an accomplished seamstress and showed off her skills by making her own wedding dress. She enjoyed the arts of painting, sketching, and cross-stitching. She created many beautiful pieces of jewelry and handmade cards.
Joy is preceded in death by her parents, Susie and William Rodgers.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 30 years, Charles; Her daughter, Tracy (Scott) Childs; daughter, Susan; grandchildren, Matthew, Kiersten, Brandon, Justin, Erin, Danny and Andy; and great-grandchild Cameron.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
She will be laid to rest at Bosque Bello Cemetery.
