Joyce L. Forehand

Mrs. Joyce Lynn Forehand, age 71 of Fernandina Beach passed away on Sunday morning, June 25, 2017 at her home.

Born in Tifton, GA, she was the eldest of six children born to the late Henry Grady Taylor and Peggy Lou Moore Taylor. As a young child her family moved to Fernandina where she grew up and graduated from high school. As a teenager growing up in Fernandina Beach she worked odd jobs to include the Ilan Theater. While in the 7th grade she met a classmate, Kenneth Forehand Jr., whom she would date throughout highs school and marry in 1966. At the time of their marriage the newlyweds moved to Germany with Mr. Forehand�s military assignment within the United States Army. In 1968 they returned home to Fernandina Beach where they began a life together. Mrs. Forehand began a long career in Book Keeping and Office Management at First Presbyterian Church in Fernandina which was followed by GMAC Financial and the Timber Division of ITT Rayonier before joining Ron Anderson Chevrolet on 8th Street. She remained with the Ron Anderson Automotive Group through moving locations and the building and opening of a new location until retiring as Office Manager in 2010.

Mrs. Forehand was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Fernandina. She was passionate about her time spent with family and enjoyed time spent reading.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Russell �Rusty� Wayne Taylor.

Mrs. Forehand leaves behind, her husband of 52 years, Ken Forehand Jr., Fernandina Beach, FL, their children, Kevin Forehand, Yulee, FL, Carrie Forehand Green, Yulee, FL, a brother, William �Billy� Taylor (Anita), Fernandina Beach, FL, three sisters, Rebecca �Becky� Fisher (Jerry), Fernandina Beach, FL, Bonnie Taylor Burnside (Skip), Tallahassee, FL, Cynthia �Cindy� Taylor Fewell (David), Lithia, FL, two grandchildren, Treska Cosper (Cody), Carmen Green and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard with her brother in law, Lewis Burnside, officiating.

Mrs. Forehand will be laid to rest in Bosque Bello Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 am until the hour of service.
