Judy Rogers Novak
2022-06-08
Judy Rogers Novak was born to Milton and Catherine Rogers in Kinston, NC. She passed away in Fernandina Beach, FL on June 8, 2022, with her husband, children and grandchildren nearby. She was 72 years old. Judy, or Nona, as she was known to those who loved her, lived a life that was centered around her family.
She volunteered and worked in the library at Pine Valley Elementary school to be near her two children as they attended classes there. As her children aged, she found her calling outside of the home as a preschool teacher. There she fostered a love of learning and books that would eventually be passed on to her grandchildren.
Through the years, whether through small acts of kindness or grand gestures of love, Judy let everyone around her know that we had her heart. Be it a greeting card or a text message, or the smiley-faced hearts she drew on everyone’s restaurant takeout box, she never missed a chance to make us feel loved and appreciated. Her loss darkens our lives, but she taught us how to share her light with simple, loving deeds. May our actions allow her to live on forever and continue to make the world a better, kinder place.
She is survived by her adamantly devoted husband of 50 years, Jerry, and her faithful sister, Deborah. She is carried on by her adoring children, Jennifer and Robert, as well as her son in-law, Daniel. Her grandchildren, Charlie, and Luella will carry the memory of their Nona’s love far into the future.
