Kathleen Ann Donaldson

2026-02-04

Kathleen Ann Donaldson passed away peacefully at her home on Amelia Island on February 4th.

Born on May 20, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was lovingly raised by her parents, Alan and Joan Donaldson, alongside her cherished siblings. Her childhood was filled with warmth, laughter, and adventure as the family moved from Kansas City to the Boston area and eventually settled on the Jersey Shore, where she graduated with honors from Red Bank Catholic High School. While at RBC, Kathy lettered in track and cross country and enjoyed a vibrant social life, all while excelling academically.

Following in her mother’s footsteps, Kathy earned her undergraduate degree from Manhattanville College and went on to receive her law degree from George Mason University. She accepted a position with the federal government at the Department of Agriculture, where she built a long and rewarding career in Washington, D.C. Known for her talent and tenacity, Kathy dedicated her professional life to helping America’s farmers navigate market challenges and complex government regulations.

Kathy later enjoyed a fulfilling retirement on Amelia Island, living close to her beloved parents. She was a generous and welcoming host to family and friends, delighting in sharing the many treasures of Amelia Island. She also became a devoted fan of her adopted NFL team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, spending countless Sundays passionately cheering them on through both triumphs and trials.

As a cherished aunt, Kathy was a trusted friend and confidante to her nieces and nephews, who will deeply miss her frequent phone calls, thoughtful advice and steady presence in their lives.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Alan and Joan Donaldson, and her beloved twin sister, Mary Joan. She is survived by her siblings, Patricia, Robert and Andrew, who mourn her passing and hold her memory close in their hearts.

Donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society.
