Kathy June Turner, 75, of Fernandina Beach passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Fernandina Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born in Folkston, GA she was a daughter of the late John W. and Catherine Majors Smith. She came to Fernandina Beach at a young age, moving here with her parents.
She worked as a clerk in several retail stores over the years and was of the Pentecostal faith. Mrs. Turner had been involved at several local churches. She loved walking on the beach. In her younger years she enjoyed riding bicycles with her children. She adored her family, most especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Windle Turner; two sons, Michael Turner and Ben Turner; her siblings, Johnny Smith, Shirley Smith and Janice Gill.
She leaves behind her children, Michelle (Jeff) Davis of Blackshear, GA, Lisa (Darby) Nickless of Fernandina Beach and Jim (Heather) Turner of Fernandina Beach; a sister, Pam Austin of Hilliard and Steve Smith of North Carolina; 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
A service to remember and celebrate her life will be held Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 4:00 PM in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors.
She will be laid to rest with her husband at Bosque Bello Cemetery at a later date.
