Sorry for your loss. I remember when we were all still kids and Kenneth used to roll his stomach. He would run around picking on us girls. That was some fun times. Love and prayers to you all 💓 Frances

Kenneth Elwood Wingate

Kenneth Elwood Wingate, 67, of Pine Mountain, GA passed away unexpectedly at his home July 12, 2021. He was born in Fernandina Beach and had lived in Nassau County until moving to Pine Mountain 15 years ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Lucille Wingate who many will remember as the owners of the Reef Drive-In Theater. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Claudine Wingate Lussier.

Kenneth graduated from Fernandina Beach High School and served in the U. S. Navy after graduation. Upon returning home he worked as a car salesman and later became a long-distance truck driver until he became disabled.

He leaves behind a daughter, Jaime Lee Wingate and a son, Kenneth Michael Wingate; his sister, Debbie Wingate Rehm; two granddaughters, Eliora Wingate and Bailee Rodenbarger; three grandsons, Noah Rodenbarger, Breadin Wingate and Carter Wingate as well as several extended family members.

Funeral services will be held in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Frank Camarotti officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 AM.

He will be laid to rest later at Wingate Cemetery.
