Kip Usher, 69, Fernandina, Florida Kip Usher passed away on Friday, February 23rd at his home in Fernandina, Florida.

Born May 15,1954 to Janet and Allen Usher in Providence, Rhode Island, later moving to Oceanside, New York, where he attended grade school and Oceanside High School. In 1972, at the age of 18, he voluntarily enlisted for military service, joining the US Navy. He served in Vietnam, on the US Forrestal and throughout many countries. During his service years he documented the places he served with a charm bracelet he gifted to his Mom.

In 1988, he married Maria Rotondi and together they had three beautiful children, Amanda, Kip and Katherine. His children remember him as a loving, hard working, generous and fun filled Dad. He was the life of any and every party. In his younger years, his love for music lead him to a career as a DJ, known as DJ Kip Love, he successfully entertained crowds in Florida and New York. Transitioning to family life, Kip left the music scene and became an accomplished entrepreneur, starting his own business in Valley Stream, NY. He enjoyed helping others. He proclaimed his love for golfing on his voicemail, which perpetually announced he was on the 17th hole. He loved fishing, dancing, spending time on the beach, watching any movie, and listening to music.

Kip leaves behind his mother Janet Usher, his brother Steven Usher, his children Amanda, Kip, and Katherine, his granddaughter Zade and many cousin’s, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.

He will be laid to rest at Fort Hill Cemetery in Montauk, NY at a later date.
