Just learned of Lanae passing away. She and i were high school sweetheartss and attended my senior prom. I was a year older. Have never forgotten her. She was a joy in my young life all. my best to her family

Ms. Lanae Miller Pulice, age 63 of Fernandina Beach, FL passed away on Monday morning, June 12, 2017 at the Warner Center for Caring.

Born in Panama City, FL she was the only child born to the late Billy Gene and Ouida Josephine Miller. As a child, her family moved with her father�s career in the United States Air Force which allowed her graduation from high school while living in Wiesbaden, Germany. Upon completing high school and returning to the U.S. she attended Florida State University where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Special Education. She taught for a short time in California before coming to Fernandina Beach in August of 1979. After settling here she taught Special Education and Elementary Education in the Nassau County Public School System until retiring from Yulee Primary School in 2014. While teaching she completed her Masters Degree in Education at the University of North Florida, was chosen as Nassau County Teacher of the Year and was one of the first teachers to obtain National Board Certification in the county.

She was a devoted mother, beloved friend, avid Florida State Seminole fan and fervent animal lover; whether it be her dogs, cats or horses and of the Methodist faith.

Ms. Pulice leaves behind her son, John �Jay� Miller Pulice and his wife, Crystal of Orlando, FL, her daughter, Ashley Pulice Mills and her husband, William of Chapin, SC, her former husband, John Pulice of Fernandina Beach, FL, an aunt and uncle, Mary Nell and Folly Wood of Fort Walton Beach, FL, an aunt, Sonja Miller of Tallahassee, FL and a granddaughter, Charley Pulice.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the Burgess Chapel of Oxley Heard with Reverend Drew Wessman, officiating.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 am until the hour of the service.
