Larry Davis

Larry Davis, originally from Vidalia Georgia passed away on January 29th, 2026 at his home in Yulee, Florida.

Born on December 8th, 1942, to Flora Sammons and O.C. Davis. He grew up in Vidalia and graduated from Toombs Central High School in the year of 1961. After high school, Larry pursued further education at Americus Trade School where he focused on electrical work. After trade school, he worked several odd jobs,. often for electrical companies. During this time period, he and his first wife, Wilma, welcomed their son to the world, Larry Dean, on January 25th, 1964. He would later go on to complete a 4 year apprenticeship as an electrician for St John’s River Power Plant where he worked until retirement , making many, many friends along the way.

Larry was an exceptional electrician but he was also well known for his love of race cars and could often be found at tracks like Jax Raceway, where he raced his own car. He and his second wife, Ms. Betty Davis, were also accomplished real estate investors, owning up to 30 properties at a point. Larry was also a generous man, regularly donating to charities of all varieties.

Larry was a well-known and respected member of IBEW Local 177 electrical union. Even after retirement, he would continue to attend their Christmas and retirement parties.

Larry leaves behind his second wife, Betty Davis, who he shared 54 years of marriage with, his son, Larry Dean of Atlanta, Georgia, Daughter, Ginger Eubanks of Bryceville, Florida, brothers Steve Davis of Valdosta and Wayne Davis of Vidalia, his two grandsons Alex Boshart and Daniel Hilbrant of Jacksonville Florida, and two great grandsons, Oliver and Jasper.

His first viewing for friends and family will be held at Oxley-Heard funeral home in Fernandina Beach on February 2nd, 2026 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. He will then be transported to his hometown of Vidalia, Georgia on February 6th, 2026, where he will have a viewing at 1:00pm at the Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home followed by a graveside funeral service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 3:00pm. He will be laid to rest next to his mom in dad.
