Linetta (Lynn) Anne Long
2024-08-29
Linnetta (Lynn) Anne Long, 76, of Monticello, Florida, passed away on August 29, 2024.
Born and raised in the Lock Haven, PA area, Lynn graduated from Lock Haven High School in 1966. She pursued her passion for nursing at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA, graduating in 1969. Lynn was immensely proud of her nursing career, serving in both hospitals and schools. Her dedication to the profession was evident in her maintaining her license throughout her life.
While in nursing school, Lynn met her beloved husband, Mike Long, who was serving in the military at the time. They shared 55 wonderful years of love and friendship. Escaping the cold northern winters, Lynn and Mike moved their family to Florida shortly after the birth of their son, Doug, in 1971. Lynn thrived in the Florida sunshine, eventually settling in Monticello for over 30 years.
Lynn was a woman of strong convictions and unwavering love for her family. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures: traveling (especially cruises), basking in the sun at the beach, spending time with loved ones, and the excitement of Las Vegas. Her vibrant personality brought joy to all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Honoring Lynn's wishes, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Jefferson County Humane Society, Inc. Wolf Creek Pet Adoption Center, reflecting Lynn's lifelong love for animals. They maintain an Amazon wishlist on their Facebook page.
Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Mike Long; her son, Doug Long, and his wife, Krista Long; and her cherished grandchildren, Laura Long and Brooke Long. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby Ryan, and her brother, Mike Ryan.
