Lou Nell "Lucy" Murray Stevens

Lou Nell “Lucy” Murray Stevens, age 81, of Yulee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday morning, February 21, 2021. Born in Millwood, Georgia, she was the youngest of seven children born to the late Walter Scott Murray and Fannie May Crews Murray.
Mrs. Stevens was active in the community in earlier years, through her association with the Yulee Lions/Lioness Club, serving as President of the Yulee Lioness Club. Mrs. Stevens was employed with Florida First National Bank (later known as First Union) and retired as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager of the Five Points Office in Fernandina Beach.
Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Macie Joiner, Donna Ruth Baldwin and Ada Mae Parrish; her brothers Pate Murray, Jack Murray and Elmer Murray; nieces, Judy Cook, Wanda Murray Carter and Brenda Murray. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving Husband of 51 years, James S. Stevens, Jr.; her children, Jeffrey Colson (Kathy), Cynthia Colson and James Sidney Stevens, III (Victoria); her grandchildren Joshua Colson (Crystal), Heather Taylor (Johnathan), Hunter Colson, Bradley Cash, Justin Cash, Cole Barry, Jessica Stevens, Darvik Stevens and Danica Stevens; great-grand children, Aliceas Velazquez, Hayden Velazquez, Kaleb Cash and Morgan Cash; as well as countless nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; sister-in-law Elda (Duane) Lovett; brother-in-law Robert (Michelle) Stevens, and many dear friends.
Mrs. Stevens loved to cook, travel and shop; fishing, gardening and spending time with her family. Mrs. Stevens had a twinkle in her eye, a smile that would light up a room and a heart full of love.
Pallbearers are Bradley Cash, Justin Cash, Joshua Colson, Hunter Colson, Johnathan Taylor and Tony Vietze.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Yulee Baptist Church.
Her family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the hour of service at the church.
She will be laid to rest in Hughes Cemetery.
