Louise A. (Weezie) Pugliese 74, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 27, 2025, with her husband by her side. She was a devoted mother, spouse, and sister whose warmth touched every life she encountered. Her smile could light up a room.

Born on March 4, 1951, in Cheverly, Maryland to the late Wilmer L. Kutsch and Naomi Bieler Kutsch, she grew up in Ardmore, Maryland and graduated from Duval High School in 1969. On December 11, 1970, she married John J. Pugliese, whom she met on a blind date in 1968 while he was home on leave from the Marines.

Louise and her family moved to Fernandina Beach, Florida in 1986 after making an annual visit since 1977. She loved walking the beach and looking for shark’s teeth and fossils. She also loved playing Bingo where she made many friends.

She is predeceased by both of her parents, her son, John L. (J.P.) Pugliese, and her beloved sister, Sandy Smith (Bob).

She is survived by her beloved husband and best friend of 54 years John J. Pugliese, her loving brother, Gary Kutsch (Sue), and countless relatives and friends who comprise her extended, loving family.

Her private interment will take place at a later date.

Donation may be made in her memory to the American Diabetic Society.
