Luther Eugene Feagin

Luther Eugene Feagin, 86, passed away Feb. 13, 2021 at his East Palatka, Florida home.
Born in Eagle Lake, Florida, he was the son of the late Lucian O. and Maedene Feagin, and a graduate of Summerlin Institute in Bartow, Florida.
Mr. Feagin began his 37-plus years of service to his country in the Florida National Guard in Bartow and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1954, serving eight years of active duty. Following discharge from the USAF, he continued his association with the military service in several reserve units in Northeast Florida, and worked as a full-time technician and staff sergeant with the Florida Army National Guard at Craig Field, Jacksonville, until his retirement in 1989.
He and his family lived in Picolata, Florida for many years, and he and his wife returned to East Palatka to reside after his retirement.
Mr. Feagin served on the Official Board of St. James United Methodist Church of Palatka, was a long-time member of the St. Augustine Yacht Club and was named the club’s 1991 “Man of the Year”. He was also a member of Florida Flywheelers Antique Engine Club. He volunteered many hours of service to Methodist Youth Fellowships at St. James and at First United Methodist Church of St. Augustine and the Mill Creek 4-H Club. He enjoyed camping in his motor home, attending NASCAR races throughout the Southeast, reading, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Jacquelyn, East Palatka; daughters Lisa Feagin (Kenneth Menard), Jacksonville, LeAnne Feagin (Jack Heard), Fernandina Beach; grandchildren Erica Corbett Drake (Dirk), Gainesville, Benjamin Goodrich, East Palatka, and Dia Goodrich, Jacksonville; great-grandchildren Jorden Bjorn, Ella Bjorn, Lavery Drake and Lyle Drake, all of Gainesville; a sister, Jerrie (Robert) Williams, Winter Haven; a brother, Leon (Janet) Feagin, Eagle Lake, one niece, three nephews, and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 17, 2021 in the Burgess Chapel of the Oxley-Heard Funeral Directors, Fernandina Beach.
