Faye always had a big smile, an infectious laugh, and the most wonderfully positive outlook on life. She was a jewel and we will keep her and the family in our hearts.

Margaret Faye (Johnson) Tom

Yes, we had the exact same name. My family used to travel 3 days in the car from Colorado to Georgia. Some of the best times of my childhood happened during those visits. As adults we were all thrown to the winds. But when we got together again it was like time never passed. Faye was always so loving and fun! One of the last times I went to Georgia was for CAs birthday and the whole family was going on a cruise - Las Vegas themed. Susan and Faye went through all their preparations glittering rings and glasses, shirt garters, etc. And lots and lots of giggling. You never had a bad time when Faye was around! I am grateful to have had her in our lives!

Faye is an Angel sent to us from above. She didn’t have to earn her Angel wings as she was presented to all of us as an Angel of Mercy, Love and Compassion for others. The Arc Nassau is forever indebted to Faye for her servant leadership, volunteerism, friendship and repeated acts of kindness. Please watch over and pray for us. We love you! Now and Forever, Your Arc Nassau family

Hyesuk and Michael Bellino

We will always remember Faye's big and bright smile.

Margaret Faye Johnson

Margaret Faye Johnson, 78, of Fernandina Beach, FL, passed away April 23, 2022 at her home.
Born on January 7, 1944, in Felton, GA to the late C.A. and Mildred Johnson, she grew up in Cedartown, GA and graduated from Cedartown High School in 1961. She later married Joseph King, having two sons, Anthony Stephen and Robert Preston.
Years later Faye relocated to Riverside, CA and began her career with Southern California Gas Company. From there she moved to Las Vegas, NV to work for the City of Las Vegas. She retired in 2016 as the city’s Economic Development Manager, focusing on planning and building low-income housing and administrating federal grants.
After retirement in 2016, she moved to Fernandina Beach and shortly thereafter became the Executive Director of The Arc Nassau, a local non-profit agency supporting adults with developmental disabilities.
Faye leaves behind her two sons, Anthony King (wife Sheryl) of Woodstock, GA and Robert King (wife Lita) of Henderson, NV, 4 grandchildren (Katie King, Preston King, Jordan King, Sydney King), 2 great grandchildren (Jaxson King, Olivia King), her sister Susan Grant (husband Doug) of Fernandina Beach, 2 brothers, Charles Johnson (wife Betty) of Hoschton, GA and Richard Johnson (wife Melissa) of Cedartown, GA and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Faye loved decorating, crafts, painting and playing Mahjong with a group of local ladies. She enjoyed traveling, exploring and trying new things. She was adventurous, generous, always happy, and thankful for the love and support of her many close family and friends. She was passionate about helping developmentally disabled adults and always believed they were an overlooked part of our community.
Per her desires, there will be no funeral service or public viewing. She was a private person and always wanted to be remembered with smiles, happy thoughts and dignity.
Donations may be made in her memory to The Arc Nassau, 86051 Hamilton Street, Yulee, FL 32097.
